Unauthorised access by a third party was identified on Rakuten Group's cloud service Rakuten Drive, with data from approximately 15,382 accounts viewed and obtained. Other morning developments included JACCS and Orient Corporation, for which Daiwa lowered its target price, St.Cousair CO.,LTD. and Sanrio announcing partnerships, and HUMAN MADE receiving new coverage.
Rakuten Group confirmed that a third party had unlawfully obtained some authentication information and used it to access its cloud storage service Rakuten Drive. The incident occurred from 29 January to 17 September 2026 and affected 15,382 accounts.
On the same day, the account names, display names and profile image URLs of 687 accounts were obtained and viewed. Encrypted passwords and other information may also have been affected for 313 accounts. Rakuten Drive blocked the unauthorised access route and strengthened its monitoring system.
Daiwa Securities left its investment rating on JACCS at “3 (Neutral)” and lowered its target price from ¥3,500 to ¥3,400. The rationale included the view that higher domestic interest rates would increase financial expenses and lead to lower earnings.
St.Cousair CO.,LTD. entered into a business partnership with Ricky Business Solution and indicated that it would accelerate the nationwide expansion of its confectionery business. Sanrio entered into a multiyear partnership with the LEGO Group and plans to launch LEGO Sanrio products from 2027 onward.
Daiwa Securities lowered its target price for Orient Corporation to ¥750 and maintained its Neutral rating. The background was an outlook that medium- to long-term interest rate increases would weigh on earnings.
Daiwa initiated coverage of HUMAN MADE with a rating of “2 (Outperform)” and a target price of ¥2,400. New stores in major domestic locations and overseas expansion centered on China were cited as growth drivers.
