日本交通グループ関西 will acquire the operating rights for 68 taxis from 4 affiliates of the Umeda Kotsu Group and establish a new Yodogawa Depot to strengthen the group’s fleet capacity and service platform. The acquisition will be completed effective 24 August 2026, and operations at the Yodogawa Depot are scheduled to begin in mid-September. As a result, the company is expected to have 1,699 licensed vehicles in Osaka Prefecture and maintain its leading position in the area.
The group attributes its achievement of the top position in Osaka Prefecture to the expansion of its group structure and stronger coordination, including a total of 2,127 vehicles across the Keihanshin area, the largest scale in the region. It will continue promoting dedicated taxi stands, vehicle dispatch services and standardized service quality under the “Sakura with N” brand, with the aim of improving customer convenience and satisfaction.
The new Yodogawa Depot will be named 東京・日本交通株式会社淀川営業所 and will be located at 3-9-8 Tagawakita, Yodogawa-ku, Osaka. It will have a fleet of 68 vehicles. 日本交通グループ関西 operates from a range of locations, including Namba, Umeda, Ibaraki and Sakai, and is expanding its service area together with its group partners.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen vehicle dispatch and service provision under the group’s unified “Sakura with N” brand. The group aims to capture demand in urban Osaka, including the Yodogawa area, and expand transportation options in the local taxi market.
