Yokogawa Electric has signed a memorandum of understanding with ELES, Slovenia's state-owned transmission system operator, and Plinovodi, the state-owned gas transmission operator, to build a hydrogen ecosystem. This will establish a framework for promoting cross-industry collaboration involving hydrogen infrastructure across Slovenia.
The purpose of the memorandum is to consider a demonstration project for a hydrogen plant connecting the power transmission and gas transmission networks, as well as digital solutions to support the integrated operation of both infrastructures. The parties aim to strengthen energy security and ensure stable supplies.
They also plan to promote the introduction of hydrogen-use solutions that support the maintenance and management of critical infrastructure. The specific implementation schedule and technical specifications are expected to be finalized in future discussions. The three companies will strengthen mutual collaboration and seek to optimize infrastructure in line with local demand.
Going forward, results from the design and validation stages of the demonstration project may be reported. Attention will focus on the project's progress and scope of application through official announcements and developments on the ground.
