“Kokushi no Bishu Koshu Highball 1998,” a canned highball made with long-aged koshu brewed in 1998, will go on general sale online and at 4 Lawson stores in Tokyo from 1 October 2026.
匠創生, which operates the long-aged koshu brand “Kokushi no Bishu,” will launch a new product, “Kokushi no Bishu Koshu Highball 1998.” The base spirit is long-aged koshu brewed in 1998, developed as a canned highball combining the deep flavour imparted by aging with the refreshing sensation of carbonation. Sales will begin on 1 October online and at 4 Lawson stores in Tokyo.
According to the product overview, the contents are 350 ml and the base spirit has an alcohol content of 7%. The price is ¥880 per can, including tax, while the 3-can set is ¥4,300, including tax, shipping and a presentation box. The product will be sold through the online shop and individual stores. Sales outlets include the Lawson Ueno-Okachimachi and Haneda Airport Garden stores, as well as department stores and other online sites.
The package design uses “Choju-giga,” a national treasure from Kozanji Temple in Kyoto. The design is described as visually expressing the tradition cultivated over a long period and 28 years of aging. The product is also intended to meet demand for gifts, with the aim of passing on koshu culture and proposing new ways to enjoy it.
匠創生 says it will continue to propose new ways of enjoying koshu to a broad range of customers, including people unfamiliar with aged sake, younger generations and international visitors to Japan, with the aim of developing Japan’s sake culture and expanding the aged-sake market. This release was issued as official information from 匠創生.
