Nikon announced its results for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027. Sales of interchangeable-lens cameras in its Imaging Products Business fell by 60,000 units year on year, while sales of interchangeable lenses also declined.
Nikon released its results for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, reporting performance in its Imaging Products Business. Sales of interchangeable-lens cameras declined from 270,000 units to 210,000, while sales of interchangeable lenses fell from 370,000 to 310,000. This indicates that overall sales are facing downward pressure.
The company cited declining demand in China as one factor and said that the absence of new product announcements this year may also have had an impact, following the launch of the Nikon Z5II and ZR in 2025.
For the full fiscal year ending March 2027, the company reportedly expects sales of interchangeable digital cameras to reach 850,000 units, down from the 910,000 units recorded in the fiscal year ended March 2026. Sales of interchangeable lenses are expected to decline from 1.30 million to 1.25 million.
Rumored specifications for the Nikon Z9II were also introduced, and interest is growing in future developments.
