Veritas In Silico announced that trademark registration had been completed for its proprietary drug delivery system, Perfusio®. The company will pursue commercialisation as a general-purpose medical device and has set fiscal 2027 as the target for beginning manufacturing and marketing.
Perfusio® is a drug delivery system that uses a catheter inserted to deliver a drug to the treatment site while simultaneously collecting blood. It is intended to deliver the drug intensively to the target site while limiting systemic leakage. The system is intended for use in areas where blood flow can be temporarily isolated, and its potential application to a wide range of drugs, including nucleic acid therapeutics, has been indicated.
The company explained that it aims to expand treatment options by combining drug discovery research using its AI drug discovery platform, aibVIS, with the commercialisation of Perfusio® and by devising new ways to deliver medicines. It is proceeding with the necessary regulatory approvals for the start of manufacturing and marketing in fiscal 2027, and is also considering collaboration with catheter-related and pharmaceutical companies.
