ORGANO, a leading company in ultrapure water essential to semiconductor manufacturing, continues to grow rapidly on the strength of AI-driven operational reform and its ability to pass through costs. Its systems have been adopted for major overseas projects, while the challenges ahead include transferring technical expertise and optimising its supply structure.
ORGANO, which supplies ultrapure water essential to semiconductor manufacturing, has secured the leading market share with systems that achieve an extremely low impurity concentration of 1 ppt. As quality requirements for the cleaning processes of cutting-edge chips rise, the company's technology is being incorporated into large-scale domestic projects.
One factor behind its growth is its ability to increase revenue and profit in response to rising demand for AI, in addition to operational reform through the use of AI. Its ability to turn surging material and raw-material costs into orders through price pass-through is also a source of its bargaining power with customers. In a global project, water treatment equipment has been adopted at Rapidus's Chitose plant.
Financially, revenue of ¥177.6 billion and operating profit of ¥37.6 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2026 both marked record highs for the fifth consecutive year. Under its long-term management plan, ORGANO2030, the company set a target of ¥30 billion in operating profit for FY2030 and achieved it ahead of schedule in FY2024. The view is that the growth trend will continue.
The challenges ahead include how to balance appropriate resource allocation in response to advances in AI and trends in semiconductor demand with the sustainable growth of the organisation, including the transfer of technical expertise.
