ANA has reviewed the changes to SFC and shifted to a policy allowing access to domestic-flight lounges depending on congestion. ANA-operated international-flight lounges will remain available, and the introduction of advance reservations is also under consideration.
All Nippon Airways (ANA) withdrew its policy under the new SFC system of uniformly denying lounge access to members spending less than ¥3 million, and revised its policy to allow access to domestic-flight lounges depending on congestion. This will maintain some conditions for the membership tier designated LITE while providing more flexible access for domestic flights only.
ANA LOUNGE facilities for domestic flights will be available when seating is likely to be secured on entry, while entry will be refused during busy periods. The introduction of advance reservations is also under consideration, with the company indicating that it hopes to implement the changes in April 2028. Shared lounges at locations including Narita, Kansai and Nagoya will remain available as before, and international-flight lounges at Haneda, Narita and Honolulu are expected to remain available.
The new SFC tiers will be maintained, but some Star Alliance benefits will be reduced. LITE will be downgraded from Gold to Silver, and benefits including partner lounges on other airlines and priority boarding are expected to be restricted. ANA has explained that it will maintain access to international-flight lounges while reviewing some services.
Membership tiers for fiscal 2028 will be determined based on spending from 16 December 2026 through 15 December 2027. The easing of domestic-flight lounge access conditions and the introduction of advance reservations are targeted for April 2028, with priority given to reducing congestion.
