Canon Production Printing Systems adopted GitHub Enterprise Cloud in preparation for AI-driven development and modernised its development platform with support for security-focused initial configuration and CI/CD. The initiative is advancing against the backdrop of the establishment of the Digital Innovation Promotion Section.
Canon Production Printing Systems, a member of the Canon Group with a core business related to business printers, established the Digital Innovation Promotion Section in January 2026. The new organisation aims to create new value through the use of digital technologies.
The section's first major theme is the modernisation of the development platform. Looking ahead to the promotion of cloud development and the full-scale adoption of AI-driven development, the company introduced GitHub Enterprise Cloud as its source-control platform. Classmethod provided technical support including centralised licence management and billing, a security-focused review of the initial configuration, and hands-on CI/CD assistance.
The 4 people responsible for the implementation, Hayakawa Toru (早川徹), Daniel da Silva, Nishimura Yuta (西村祐太) and Yoshida Yuka (吉田侑花), discuss the initiative on the ground. The project is being advanced as part of the Digital Innovation Promotion Section's plan.
This article was prepared with the cooperation of Classmethod Inc. and Tokyo Electron Device Limited, and introduces the process of modernising the development platform around GitHub Enterprise Cloud and the activities taking place on the ground.
