Safie will expand availability of its option for displaying kilometer post information over video data to the NEXCO Central Japan area. The option will be available on expressways and motorways in the area from August 2026, enabling the location of field operations to be identified immediately from video.
Safie announced a collaboration to make its “Kilometer Post Display Option,” which displays expressway kilometer post information over video data, available in the area managed by NEXCO Central Japan. Its collaboration partner is 中日本ハイウェイ・エンジニアリング名古屋株式会社, and kilometer post information will be viewable in the video management interface for the wearable cloud cameras Safie Pocket2 Plus and Safie Pocket2 Wide.
The service will cover all expressways and motorways managed by NEXCO Central Japan, with the feature becoming available from August 2026. Displaying kilometer post information is expected to speed up the identification of locations where incidents occur and checks of surrounding conditions, while facilitating information sharing and decision-making between offices and field teams.
The service’s main function is to display kilometer post information on LIVE/VOD footage in Safie Viewer, including the route name, upbound/downbound lanes, and kilometer posts at 10-meter intervals. The supported models are Safie Pocket2 Plus and Safie Pocket2 Wide, and kilometer post information is calculated automatically from location data.
The service was previously launched in the NEXCO East Japan area, and this expansion extends its coverage to the NEXCO Central Japan area.
