A system failure believed to have been caused by unauthorized access to a data center occurred at Nissui Logistics, a subsidiary of major Japanese food company Nissui, halting inbound and outbound shipping operations. An investigation is also under way into suspected leakage of personal information.
Nissui announced that a system failure had occurred at Nissui Logistics, based in Tokyo and responsible for logistics services. Unauthorized access to a data center was cited as the cause.
The failure has made it impossible to ship products in or out, disrupting the provision of logistics services.
The Nissui Group continues to investigate the possibility that personal information and customer data under its management may have leaked in connection with the unauthorized access to the data center contracted by Nissui Logistics.
The results of the investigation and the recovery status are expected to be disclosed going forward.
