Hyogo Prefecture and 日本山村硝子 have launched the Orange Cap Ribbon Project, Japan's first initiative to make orange ribbon badges from used plastic bottle caps, promoting awareness of child abuse prevention and resource recycling simultaneously.
As Japan's first initiative of its kind, Hyogo Prefecture and 日本山村硝子 have launched a project to recycle orange-colored caps and produce orange ribbon badges. The badges are intended to raise awareness of child abuse prevention and promote understanding of resource recycling, with the project aiming to spread through cooperation across the local community.
The project aims to deepen understanding of both the Orange Ribbon campaign and resource recycling through public-private collaboration, using cap collection and recycling technology. 日本山村硝子's technology is being used in production, while the prefecture is working with cooperating companies and organisations to collect the raw materials and promote wearing the badges.
As the first phase, 日本山村硝子 donated 300 orange ribbon badges to the prefecture. Going forward, the badges will be used for awareness-raising activities, including distribution to and wearing by prefectural employees and wearing at Victorina Himeji official matches.
For reference, a press conference by the parties involved is scheduled for 5 November. Information on 日本山村硝子's cap-recycling initiative is available on the company's website.
