Domestic investment firm エンデバー・ユナイテッド (Chiyoda, Tokyo) established a private equity fund that invests in business succession opportunities involving mid-sized and small and medium-sized companies, with assets under management of approximately ¥85 billion.
The fund’s capital was raised from domestic and overseas banks, insurers, asset management companies, pension funds and other investors, making it the largest fund in the firm’s history.
Around 70% to 80% of the firm’s past investments involved business succession, and demand for business succession is said to be increasing against a backdrop of ageing business owners and a lack of successors.
