According to Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation’s fund ranking by sales amount, 世界のベスト rose from 2nd place the previous month to take the top spot in August 2026. 三井住友・225オープン, which had ranked first the previous month, fell to 2nd place. 三井住友・NYダウ・ジョーンズ指数オープン rose to 4th place from 6th the previous month, while GSグローバル・パーシャルヘッジ社債ファンド, which had been outside the top 10 the previous month, moved up to 9th place.
SMBC・DCインデックスファンド（MSCIコクサイ） also entered the ranking at 10th place, with many funds that had fallen outside the top 10 returning to the list. エス・ビー・日本株オープン225, which had ranked 4th the previous month, and 三井住友DS・FOLIO・AIマルチアセットファンド＜フューチャーガイド＞, which had ranked 9th, dropped out of the top 10.
The changing market environment was cited as one factor, with interest in funds tracking the 日経平均 declining and demand for overseas equity index funds recovering. Monthly changes in NAV showed gains across all overseas equity index funds, and it was noted that ダウ and MSCIコクサイ did not necessarily outperform the S&P 500 or 日経225. The view was also expressed that movements in the yen’s exchange rate and U.S. equity markets are influencing the selection of overseas assets.
