SANKYO decided to acquire A-gon, a Tochigi-based pachinko machine manufacturer, as a subsidiary and completed the share acquisition. The purchase price has not been disclosed, and information on the seller has also not been made public.
SANKYO acquired shares in A-gon to bring its proprietary development capabilities and brand assets into the group, strengthening its ability to plan and develop gaming machines distinct from its existing SANKYO, Bisty and JB brands. The share acquisition was completed on 30 September 2026, announced on the same day, and subsequently made public after confirmation by the Japan Game Machine Industry Association was completed on 21 October 2026.
A-gon is a gaming machine manufacturer headquartered in Sano, Tochigi Prefecture, with strengths in developing machines using proprietary analog lotteries and mechanisms. Its representative machines include Showa Monogatari, GoGo Pyramid and Wai no Sano Ramen, and the company has continued to develop products under its own brand for many years.
Although revenue has risen sharply over the past 3 fiscal years, ordinary losses have continued. For the fiscal year ended September 2025, the ordinary loss was approximately ¥159 million and total assets were approximately ¥539 million. Revenue increased from ¥16 million in fiscal 2023 to ¥172 million in fiscal 2025, but losses remained substantial. The purchase price has not been disclosed, making it difficult at present to calculate valuation multiples and other metrics.
The M&A synergies include (1) combining A-gon's development capabilities and product lineup with SANKYO's existing brands, (2) sharing development, manufacturing and sales functions across the group to control costs, and (3) creating new products by leveraging A-gon's proprietary development capabilities and financial resources. However, no specific new product or sales plans have been disclosed at this time.
