Takara Standard announced that its first-half profit declined due to the impact of conditions in the Middle East and other factors, but that full-year revenue and operating profit are expected to reach record highs.
In the second-quarter results, revenue reached a record high, while figures from operating profit downward declined due to the impact of conditions in the Middle East and other factors. Progress in revenue and each profit measure is described as steady against the revised forecasts.
The full-year forecasts were left unchanged from those announced at the time of publication. Revenue is projected at ¥259.0 billion, operating profit at ¥19.1 billion, net profit at ¥14.3 billion and ROE at 7.4%. Uncertainty surrounding conditions in the Middle East and persistently high material prices remain ongoing challenges.
By market and product, revenue from new detached homes and renovation remained higher, while new multi-unit housing saw revenue decline due to construction delays and heavy rain. Demand for bathrooms remained firm across all markets, and initiatives to expand market share are under way.
Future initiatives include strengthening the consumer-facing website through the entry of IT consulting company Sigma Consulting into the group, developing DX talent, restructuring the organization and reviewing locations. The company explained its investment policy aimed at sustainable growth.
The company indicated that it aims to achieve its full-year targets while steadily advancing its initiatives in the first half and remaining mindful of external factors such as supply and demand and construction delays from the second half onward, against the backdrop of the impact of cost increases caused by the situation in the Middle East.
