Google's AI-powered concept board tool Mixboard is scheduled to end its service on 28 September 2026. Works on the site must be downloaded by the end date.
Google has announced that its AI-powered concept board tool “Mixboard” will end its service on Monday, 28 September 2026. The Mixboard site will become inaccessible after the end date, so any work users wish to keep must be downloaded by that day.
Mixboard was launched as an experimental Google Labs project. Its public beta began in the United States on 23 September 2025, and expanded to more than 180 countries, including Japan, on 30 October of the same year. The service is therefore set to conclude after roughly one year of operation.
Google has not officially stated why Mixboard is ending, but has indicated that it plans to apply the user feedback gained through the Labs experiment to future services and feature development.
Mixboard was introduced as a tool that allowed users to start projects from text prompts and expand boards by uploading images, providing an experience for creating and sharing content. Attention is now focused on developments involving alternative or successor services.
