Following Anthropic’s S-1 filing, ANT’s listing has become a market focus. Claude adoption by Japanese companies and investment in AI infrastructure are accelerating, with the listing expected to drive fund flows into areas including data center power infrastructure.
Following the release of an S-1 filing by US-based Anthropic, which is planning a Nasdaq listing, Japanese investors turned their attention to the company. The offering is expected to raise up to $100 billion, with a valuation of $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion, and reports indicated that trading could begin as early as mid-November.
In the Tokyo market that afternoon, the Nikkei 225 rose ¥1,078 from the previous day, as buying returned across AI and semiconductor stocks. Sakura Internet’s share price also responded at one point, supported by demand for GPU cloud services, and funds were seen moving into Claude-related stocks.
Moves by Japanese companies to adopt and resell Claude are gaining momentum. NEC is advancing its collaboration as Claude’s global partner, moving from applying the technology to its own operations to jointly developing industry-specific AI solutions for the financial, manufacturing and local government sectors. An improvement in its earnings outlook for the fiscal year ending March 2027 was also reported.
Efforts to promote Claude adoption in Japan have also extended to Nomura Research Institute. NRI became Japan’s first Claude-certified reseller and began expanding adoption of Claude for Enterprise and providing AFT-related services. Against a backdrop of growing data center demand, the development of data processing capacity and power infrastructure may advance, analysts said.
