Two goats began working inside the area outside Yotsuya Station to control weeds. Station staff provide their care, and the work is scheduled through December, with its end dependent on the condition of the grass.
Goats have begun working as an environmentally friendly weed-control method in the area inside the JR Yotsuya Station forecourt. The operation began on the 9th of this month and is the first such initiative inside the Yamanote Line loop.
The 2 goats engaged in the weed-control work are Nagi, a male, and Pokke, a female. People watching them at work commented on the soothing effect and novelty of the initiative.
Station staff are responsible for caring for the goats. The operation is scheduled to continue through December and is expected to end once the grass is gone.
Although the situation at the site and reactions to the initiative have been reported, the operating arrangements may change depending on future updates and how the grass grows.
