Aigan announced that it will begin offering the Ray-Ban Meta GEN3 AI glasses at 21 stores nationwide on 16 October. Prices start at ¥78,980 including tax, with 3 models available: Aviator, Zena and Wayfarer.
The Ray-Ban Meta GEN3 glasses are equipped with Meta AI and can take photos, make calls and send messages without the user taking out a smartphone. However, some functions may be unavailable depending on the region and language in which the service is offered and app compatibility.
The glasses are also offered with Transitions lenses, which are relatively clear indoors and darken outdoors, changing according to light conditions. They provide 100% UV protection, and lenses in new colors are also available.
Some stores have demo units available for try-ons and hands-on demonstrations, while staff holding eyewear technician qualifications assist with consultations on prescription lenses and other matters. However, production may not be possible for some prescriptions. The launch date is the same, and the 21 stores offering the glasses include stores that also carry Oakley Meta.
