The event highlighted the two countries’ long-standing cooperation and the results delivered daily to infrastructure projects.
The forum involved 9 Indonesian state-owned and regional-owned enterprises (BUMN/BUMD), which presented 32 strategic investment projects with total investment of IDR 207.64 trillion (approximately US$13.16 billion). The projects cover sectors including roads and toll roads, real estate and residential development, railways and transit-oriented development (TOD), ports and logistics, and steel manufacturing facilities.
Many of the projects are brownfield projects with operating track records and revenue histories, and flexible cooperation structures have been designed, including business transfers, joint ventures, public-private partnerships (KPBU), concessions and long-term leases. The government explained the support available to Japanese partners, including tax incentives and workforce skills development through education.
Approximately 50 Japanese companies and institutions took part in the forum’s related sessions, including Toyota Tsusho, Sumitomo Corporation, Obayashi Corporation, Shimizu Corporation and Mizuho Bank. Business-matching sessions are also scheduled to continue on 27 and 28 August 2026.
