The winning works of the “My Style vintage Generative AI Contest 2026,” which reinterprets real buildings using generative AI, have been announced, with the Grand Prix awarded to a work posted by the Instagram account @captainf23102. The event ran from 22 July 2026 to 16 August, and the final results were announced that month.
The contest solicited image and video works using the real building “My Style vintage Asagaya-kita” as their subject, attracting 30 entries. Following a preliminary review, the final judging evaluated the works on 4 criteria: “worldview,” “originality,” “execution” and “emotional resonance.” The Audience Award was given to the work with the most likes.
The Grand Prix went to the image work by @captainf23102, which received a digital gift worth ¥80,000. The Excellence Awards went to @pel_japan_ai (video) and @saiku1097 (image), the Judges’ Award went to @fudemoji_okinawa (video), and the Audience Award went to @thetakamonik.sakyoku (image).
The Grand Prix work was highly rated for expressing a summer scene without altering the actual building. Comments praised the striking composition of the blue sky and cumulus clouds, the placement of the yellow and green of the sunflowers, and the deep-focus presentation, as well as the care taken with color and exposure adjustments during development.
In closing remarks, the organizer said that events are planned for each season going forward, with autumn and winter editions also under consideration. The winning works will be published on the official Instagram account and a dedicated webpage, and are also scheduled for use in promotional materials conveying the brand’s worldview.
