The operating company of Tochigi Nikko IceBucks held a press conference at the prefectural government office and announced that Team Director Tsuchida Eiji (土田 英二) would be appointed president. It was also announced at the press conference that President Sergio Echigo (セルジオ越後) would become chairman.
The new management structure has been under consideration for about 2 years. Following review by a committee comprising outside experts, a recommendation was issued naming Tsuchida as president. The decision was formally made at the regular shareholders' meeting and board of directors meeting in September.
After leaving the presidency, Sergio Echigo (セルジオ越後) is scheduled to become chairman. He and Tsuchida are scheduled to take up their new positions on 1 November. Drawing on his extensive experience in club management, the company aims to stabilize and grow its business foundation.
Tsuchida joined the IceBucks in 2004 after studying at Waseda University and working for Seibu Railway. Following his retirement as a player, he held positions including general manager. He indicated that he would work to build a club that is loved and to stabilize and grow its management foundation.
