Saizeriya's domestic business was strong in the third quarter of the fiscal year ending August 2026, and the deterioration in its cost of sales ratio appears to have been offset by increased customer traffic. The company indicated that it is considering revising its prices going forward.
Saizeriya released its results for the third quarter of the fiscal year ending August 2026. Domestic standalone operating profit expanded to ¥5.592 billion, 2.2 times the year-earlier level. Consolidated operating profit was ¥13.327 billion, while revenue was ¥221.332 billion, up approximately 17.5% year on year.
Standalone revenue was ¥149.801 billion, ordinary profit was ¥11.7 billion, and net income was ¥8.574 billion, all increasing. Factors including higher dividend income boosted profit, and the company also indicated an increase in its dividend forecast in its earnings summary. The cost of sales ratio deteriorated from 46.1% to 47.5%, but the operating margin improved to 3.7%.
The main driver of the revenue increase was “higher customer traffic.” Domestic customer traffic was approximately 173.76 million, up 17.1% year on year. Average spend per customer rose from ¥844 to ¥862, up 2.1%. Approximately ¥21.58 billion of the revenue increase came from existing stores, accounting for the majority, indicating that customer traffic at existing stores had a greater impact than new store openings.
