HKS has launched a sports muffler for the GR86/BRZ featuring a large-diameter φ110mm titanium tailpipe. The Hi-Power SPEC-L GT is designed to reduce weight and improve exhaust performance, weighing approximately 6kg less than the stock muffler and priced at ¥264,000 (including tax).
HKS has launched the Hi-Power SPEC-L GT (Hi-Power SPEC-L GT) for the GR86 and BRZ. Building on the lightweight design of the SPEC-L series, it features improvements to the design, sound and exhaust characteristics, along with a 110mm-diameter titanium tailpipe.
The product weighs approximately 6kg less than the stock muffler, at 10.2kg. It is designed to reduce exhaust resistance by approximately 35% compared with stock, while improving torque in the low- to mid-rpm range and delivering stronger output characteristics at high rpm.
Applicable vehicles are the TOYOTA GR86 and SUBARU BRZ with the ZN8/ZD8 chassis codes, powered by the FA24 engine. Applicable model years are the GR86 from October 2021 onward and the BRZ from August 2021 onward. The suggested retail price is ¥240,000 excluding tax (the tax-exclusive price is the effective price notation), with an effective price equivalent to ¥265,000 excluding tax also shown.
The muffler features a 2-way finisher that highlights the presence of the large-diameter Φ110 titanium tailpipe, and the tail finisher can be mounted in either of two front-to-rear positions. The results of a performance comparison demonstrating both everyday drivability and stronger high-rpm performance are also presented.
