A teaser image and message from Google Health suggest that the new fitness tracker “Fitbit Edge” will be announced on 12 October. The Japan price is expected to be around ¥30,000.
A teaser posted by Google Health on its official X account shows the side of a new wearable alongside the message “Get an Edge on your health. 10.12.26,” suggesting an announcement on 12 October. The product name is not specified, but the Fitbit Edge is widely expected to be launched. As this is still at the teaser stage, the timing of its release on the same day has not been confirmed.
The device is reportedly positioned between the screenless Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5, and is expected to be a new model with a display. The teaser image shows a body with a display, a glossy button and a band attachment point. Its color is said to be similar to one used for the Pixel Watch 5.
According to reported specifications, the device will feature a 1.34-inch OLED display, with always-on functionality and touch operation expected. Battery life is reported to be up to 7 days with the always-on display off and up to 2 days with it on. Five minutes of fast charging is said to provide up to 24 hours of use. Reports also point to enhanced health-management features, including an ECG sensor, a skin-temperature sensor and AFib detection.
The indicative prices are €179 in Europe, £159 in the United Kingdom and approximately $180 in the United States. The Japan price is expected to be around ¥30,000. Although it is not known whether the device will be released in Japan, it may support iPhone, and the prevailing view is that the Fitbit Edge will offer more features than the Fitbit Air.
