ほっかほっか亭総本部 announced that, as the second anniversary bento offering marking its 50th anniversary, it will relaunch all 5 products in its nori series, including its signature original Nori Bento, from 1 September 2026. To offer a new staple to a broad range of customers, including younger consumers, the company narrowed down 50 potential toppings in connection with its 50th anniversary, held a tasting event and selected tuna mayonnaise as the new topping. Ahead of the launch, a standalone Napolitan product and a Tuna Mayonnaise Rice Napolitan Bento will be released on 27 August.
The new tuna mayonnaise features a crunchy onion texture and rich flavor. It has been developed to complement the flavor of nori and bonito-flake rice infused with dashi soy sauce. The relaunched nori series comprises 5 products, all of which will receive the new topping. Prices, including tax in western Japan, will be ¥530 for Nori Bento, ¥630 for Nori Karaage Bento, ¥540 for Aji Fry Nori Tartar Bento, ¥630 for Nori Mentaiko Bento and ¥630 for Nori Chicken Katsu Bento.
The standalone Napolitan product will be priced at ¥380, while the Tuna Mayonnaise Rice Napolitan Bento released on the same day will cost ¥540.
