NEC Corporation announced plans to participate in Anthropic PBC's Project Glasswing and use the frontier AI model Claude Mythos Preview in defensive cybersecurity operations. By combining Mythos's software analysis capabilities with NEC Corporation's expertise in vulnerability management, the company aims to detect vulnerabilities in its internal IT systems at an early stage and automate and streamline development and operations. It will first apply the model to its own vulnerability management processes, then extend the knowledge gained through practical implementation to system design, governance and talent development.
Following its global partnership with Anthropic in April 2026, NEC Corporation has been pursuing the joint development of industry-specific, task-focused AI solutions and the introduction of Claude to BluStellar Scenario. In this initiative, the company will first validate the technology internally as client zero, then use Mythos's analytical capabilities to detect new vulnerabilities and improve the quality of system development and operations. It will deepen the implementation of vulnerability management by combining internal validation with the use of threat intelligence.
