It was announced that a company in Osaka, Arcadia, which operates Satsuma Town’s disaster information distribution service “Safety and Security Email,” may have experienced unauthorised access by a third party, potentially resulting in the leakage of registrants’ personal information.
On the 13th, Satsuma Town began investigating after a third party may have gained unauthorised access to the company operating “Safety and Security Email,” which distributes disaster information and other updates to residents, potentially resulting in the leakage of personal information.
Approximately 2,500 people use the service. An email address is required to use it, while some users have registered their names voluntarily.
The town is currently checking whether personal information was actually leaked and plans to publish the results of its investigation.
The town has urged residents to be alert to suspicious emails, not to access URLs even when they are included, and to refrain from entering personal information.
