As Fujitsu works to reduce its revenue dependence on man-month billing through the use of AI, it has announced partnerships with Anthropic and OpenAI. The current status of Uvance and the outlook for the mix of future value-creation models were also presented.
Through partnerships with overseas AI companies, major domestic systems integrators are accelerating efforts to shift to new revenue models that improve development productivity. Fujitsu announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic and collaboration with OpenAI at the same time.
Fujitsu’s AI platform Kozuchi incorporates external technologies in addition to its own technologies and combines them with its proprietary LLM Takane, which is designed to address customer requirements and regulatory requirements. Fujitsu positions this multi-model approach and its in-house integration capabilities as key strengths.
For the current business brand centered on Uvance, 60–70% of the revenue model is based on man-month billing, while usage-based billing accounts for approximately 30%. The outlook presented is that value-creation models will account for more than 50% from 2030 onward.
Improved productivity through AI agents represents a growth opportunity, while also creating pressure to review conventional revenue models. Man-month-based businesses are expected to slow going forward, making it important to create new value by converting time savings and business transformation from AI adoption into compensation.
