Panasonic announced new Eolia room air conditioners and will expand its lineup of models compliant with the new energy-efficiency standards. Price increases of ¥30,000–¥50,000 are expected for some models that comply with the new standards.
Panasonic announced new Eolia products and said it would expand its lineup of models compliant with the new energy-efficiency standards, which will become stricter from April 2027. There are 6 applicable series, 3 of which will be the first to comply with the new standards. Five series, including the flagship models, will begin selling new products, while the mid-priced models are scheduled to launch in late February.
The new products will be sold at open prices, but price increases of ¥30,000–¥50,000 are expected for some series, including models compliant with the new standards. Meanwhile, flagship models are expected to be priced at approximately ¥290,000–¥430,000, roughly in line with the previous year, and prices are expected to be maintained.
Compressor controls have been improved to increase energy efficiency, including modifications that allow the improvements to be applied during heating operation. The flagship model for 12-tatami rooms is said to have the industry’s highest energy efficiency, strengthening the product’s appeal in reducing electricity costs.
The latest version of the fine-particle ion technology Nanoe X has been installed, enhancing antibacterial and deodorizing functions. Controls have also been added to allow the internal cleaning function to operate during extended use. A company representative said the company is targeting annual sales of approximately 200,000 units while anticipating a reactionary decline in demand following purchases made ahead of the new standards.
