Daikin Industries will build a new plant for data center cooling equipment in Mexico and bring it online in early 2027. The company will strengthen its supply capacity to expand into markets outside North America, including hyperscalers.
Daikin Industries will build a new plant at an industrial park in Tijuana, northwestern Mexico. The investment is expected to total ¥1 billion. Daikin already owns Plants 1 and 2 in the city and is proceeding with construction of Plant 3. The new plant will increase the company’s supply capacity for data center cooling equipment and support the development of global markets.
The new plant is scheduled to begin pilot production in January 2027, followed by full-scale production in June. Based on the start-up of Plant 3, Daikin will serve data center construction by customer hyperscalers not only in North America but also in Europe and India.
Daikin aims to expand supplies of air-conditioning equipment for data centers, primarily in the North American market, and is strengthening its production system in preparation for developing global markets.
