ANRITSU CORPORATION has developed and begun selling an option for the MT8862A that enables RF performance evaluation of Wi‑Fi 8 and Bluetooth Low Energy with a single unit. Used together with the existing instrument, it enables real-world evaluation, including network-mode and OTA measurements.
ANRITSU CORPORATION has begun offering an option for its existing MT8862A measurement platform that supports RF performance evaluation of the next-generation Wi‑Fi 8 standard (IEEE 802.11bn) and BLE. This expands the evaluation environment for both Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy with a single unit.
The new function is offered as software, enabling customers that already own an MT8862A to conduct evaluations without introducing a new measurement system. In addition to the latest Wi‑Fi 8 features, including 320 MHz bandwidth and 4096QAM, it supports earlier standards including Wi‑Fi 6E and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac.
Measurements can be performed in “network mode,” assuming an actual communication state, and OTA testing over a wireless connection is possible in addition to wired testing. Transmit power, modulation accuracy and receive sensitivity can be evaluated for each data rate, supporting verification of communication performance during actual operation.
RF performance evaluation of BLE devices can be conducted based on the Bluetooth SIG RF PHY Test Specifications. The option is also said to help identify the causes of problems, supporting future advances in wireless functions.
