Blackmagic Design has announced the UltraStudio Mini 12G series and will offer three models in the Japanese market: UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G, UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G, and UltraStudio Mini Monitor 12G. The Japanese prices are ¥86,980 for the Replay 12G, ¥68,980 for the Recorder 12G, and ¥68,980 for the Monitor 12G.
The UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G is an input-only model that supports SD, HD, and Ultra HD capture, receiving signals via 12G-SDI and HDMI. It is suitable for use with live-streaming software, creating archives from older broadcast decks, and live broadcast replay using DaVinci Resolve.
The UltraStudio Mini Monitor 12G is an output-only model that supports SD, HD, and Ultra HD playback via 12G-SDI and HDMI. Its dual 12G-SDI outputs can be used to convert the alpha channel of graphics into a key output, making it suitable for broadcast graphics applications. The UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G supports 12G-SDI only and can capture and play back simultaneously.
All models are equipped with Thunderbolt 4, enabling video capture and playback as well as power delivery over a single cable. They use the DeckLink API and therefore work with a wide range of video software, and may also be used for real-time graphics processing and AI processing.
