Ottocast has announced 3 new products. In addition to making CarPlay/Android Auto wireless, the company is proposing new options for video viewing and physical controls, while emphasizing its support structure for the Japanese market.
Ottocast announced 3 new products simultaneously: U2Air Neo, Play2Video S and Otto Safe knob. U2Air Neo is positioned as a premium model that makes a vehicle's wired connection wireless, while Play2Video S enables users to watch videos such as YouTube and Netflix on the in-vehicle display. Otto Safe knob introduces a new approach to controlling CarPlay through physical controls.
Play2Video S improves processing performance and stability over the previous Ultra model. Its dual-Wi-Fi and dual-band design allows smartphone tethering and a wireless connection to be used simultaneously. It is priced at ¥19,999, and Play2Video X is also available as a model sold exclusively through the official website.
Otto Safe knob is a physical controller that allows users to select and confirm items by turning a dial. It runs on a CR2477 battery and requires no power wiring inside the vehicle. In actual use, it provides tactile clicks and allows users to operate the CarPlay menu from their fingertips. It is priced at ¥6,999.
Ottocast has been used by more than 1 million people cumulatively in Japan, which is said to account for approximately 30% of its global cumulative users. The company has established a support structure dedicated to Japan, with 28 staff members providing support through web forms, telephone and LINE. Its focus on the Japanese market and long-term investment stance are presented as company strengths.
