Yoshida Tomomi (吉田朋美) has been appointed president of the Toyama Grouses. She has proposed a Performance Center that would also serve as a dedicated practice facility, with the aim of developing players to global standards within 3–5 years.
The Toyama Grouses appointed Yoshida Tomomi (吉田朋美) as its new president in September. Known also as a singer and goat cheese artisan, Yoshida Tomomi (吉田朋美) became president after serving as an outside director of the club, of which she has been a longtime fan.
At her inauguration press conference, Yoshida Tomomi (吉田朋美) unveiled plans for a Performance Center that would include a dedicated practice facility, outlining a policy to develop a training base covering not only practice but also conditioning, sports medicine and science, and nutrition.
She identified “working backward” as a key management principle, expressing the view that the club should first define its vision for the future and then design the actions it needs to take now. Specifically, she cited 3 initiatives: building an organization capable of winning, creating reasons for people to gather, and establishing systems that help people develop.
The club aims to become a team that competes in the championship in 3 years and seriously contends for the title in 5 years. Yoshida Tomomi (吉田朋美) expressed her intention to develop players capable of competing globally, starting in Toyama.
