Shionogi & Co., Ltd. announced an upward revision to its full-year earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, forecasting revenue of ¥720 billion, operating profit of ¥230 billion, profit before tax of ¥220.5 billion and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥212.5 billion. Basic earnings per share is expected to be ¥249.67.
The annual dividend forecast will be ¥86, reflecting a ¥2 increase in the interim dividend from the previous forecast and an ¥8 increase in the year-end dividend. The annual dividend, including the interim dividend, is expected to increase by ¥15 from the previous fiscal year, marking the company's 15th consecutive year of dividend increases.
The main reason for the upward revision to the earnings forecast is said to be the results of growth investments made in fiscal 2025. In the overseas business, the transfer of the Radicava ALS treatment business progressed smoothly, and sales in the infectious disease field have also been strong. In Japan, products including QUVIVIQ and Radicut supported growth.
The company's future strategy includes creating new growth areas through the acquisition of Intrabio, preparing for the launch of NPC and A-T treatments, and increasing royalty income from the HIV business. Costs are expected to rise due to amortization of intangible assets and active investment, but the company says it will continue managing costs and prioritizing its pipeline.
