NTT West and Philips Japan announced a business partnership to enhance measures addressing sleep apnea syndrome. They will expand the SAS Online Clinic service model and coordinate the process online from testing through treatment.
NTT West is working with Philips Japan to develop a new service model that enhances online medical consultations and treatment support for sleep apnea syndrome (SAS). The initiative aims to link healthcare providers, companies and data across organizational boundaries, connecting SAS measures with corporate health and safety management.
Specifically, CPAP device usage and treatment data will be shared online, enabling healthcare providers and companies to monitor treatment progress. By combining online medical consultations with data integration, the companies aim to improve treatment continuation rates through patient-specific follow-up.
For companies, SAS measures will be linked with safety and labor management to help reduce accident risks among transportation and logistics operators. The target users include transportation operators in logistics, railways, buses and taxis, as well as companies promoting health and productivity management. The initiative is expected to improve screening participation and treatment continuation rates and streamline employee health management. Going forward, the companies will consider developing new service models and business areas in the medical and healthcare fields by leveraging accumulated data and expertise.
