Following the favorable reception of the previous Naan & W Curry product, the company aims to invigorate the market with a new line that highlights its distinctive strengths.
Nippon Ham Frozen Foods announced that it will launch Pizza Plate and Focaccia Plate products in September as the second installment of its dough-based one-plate meal range, following the favorable reception of its frozen one-plate meal Naan & W Curry, launched in March. The company said it is stepping up its efforts to enter this new field. It held a new product presentation on 3 August, where the president emphasized initiatives launched last year and the company’s strengths in dough-based products.
The Pizza Plate is served with nuggets and French fries. The pizza features a light, fluffy crust topped with homemade tomato sauce, Gouda cheese and sausage, among other ingredients. The Focaccia Plate combines Italian meatballs with cheese fondue. The focaccia has a moist dough made with olive oil, while the cheese fondue uses four types of cheese.
For commercialization, the company developed an original tray designed to ensure even heating and make the products easy to arrange on store shelves. The products are designed to be prepared in a microwave in approximately 3 minutes.
The company is also expanding its core bento product range, adding 2 new items to the Sichuan shumai series supervised by Sichuan Hanten, bringing the total to 4 items. The shrimp shumai aims to offer contrasting textures from shrimp and lotus root, while the black vinegar sweet-and-sour pork is a hearty side dish made with a specially prepared black vinegar sauce.
