SK Japan announced its results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027. Revenue increased substantially, while operating profit declined slightly, and the company raised its full-year revenue forecast.
SK Japan announced consolidated results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027. Revenue was ¥5.721 billion, up 39.2% from the same period a year earlier, while operating profit was ¥561 million, down 5.7%. Foreign-exchange movements and higher procurement costs weighed on profit, while an increase in selling, general and administrative expenses also had an impact.
Revenue in the core character and fancy-goods business was strong, but profit margins declined due to foreign-exchange movements and an increase in purchased goods. Demand trends by region and the effectiveness of promotional activities continue to be monitored, but factors driving higher costs constrained profit.
For the cumulative second quarter period from March to August, revenue rose 32.0% year on year to ¥10.035 billion, representing substantial revenue growth. Operating profit, however, fell 1.9% to ¥988 million. Despite expanding demand, profit declined slightly.
The full-year revenue forecast was revised upward from the previous ¥17.0 billion to ¥19.5 billion, while the forecasts for each profit measure were left unchanged. Source: Wealth Advisor Co., Ltd.
