SWCC has reported a case study in which it modeled an existing substation using a 3D-based model and applied PIM to a construction plan for the first time. The initiative is being pursued as part of its 2030 growth strategy, Transformation for Growth SWCC 2030. The introduction of digital design is a development to watch.
SWCC converted an existing substation into a 3D-based model and applied PIM to an actual construction plan for the first time. This is part of an effort to improve coordination between design and construction planning.
In this case study, 3D modeling was performed using 2D CAD data as the starting point, and construction planning was examined using PIM. The use of the 3D model and PIM is expected to improve the efficiency of on-site planning.
SWCC has set out Transformation for Growth for 2030 and is promoting digital design and advanced on-site planning methods as part of the plan.
