Foundry manufacturer コクネ will build a new plant in Nishio, Aichi Prefecture, for cast products for electronic components supplied to Yamaha Motor. The plant will be located adjacent to Yamaha Motor’s Hamamatsu Robotics facility, with operations scheduled to begin in February 2028.
コクネ will invest more than ¥6 billion to build a new plant for cast products for electronic components supplied to Yamaha Motor. Headquartered in Nishio, Aichi Prefecture, the company aims to expand its assembly processes beyond the traditional scope of the foundry business and establish high-value-added production lines.
The new plant will be built on a site adjacent to Yamaha Motor’s Hamamatsu Robotics facility, with operations targeted to begin in February 2028. The company plans to obtain subsidies and expand production, mainly for Yamaha Motor, against the backdrop of growing demand for electronic-component mounting machines.
The new plant will install conveyors for the automatic collection of machining chips and the latest machining centers. By strengthening its assembly processes, it will improve operating efficiency. The company is also putting in place a structure to address the aging of its existing plant in Nishio.
The company aims to increase revenue by ¥9 billion from the fiscal year ending December 2027 to the fiscal year ending December 2031, and is targeting an average annual growth rate of 25% from the fiscal year ending December 2027 onward. In response to the strong performance of Yamaha Motor’s robotics business, it also aims to expand orders in other fields.
