Logizard completed development of the shared digital waybill “Bit Waybill” and officially launched the service. It is building a system that issues a common ID for cargo, links it to waybill information, and records the history from shipment through delivery on a blockchain.
Logizard completed development of the shared digital waybill “Bit Waybill” and officially launched the service on 21 October. Bit Waybill assigns a BWB number to cargo and links it to waybill information, enabling the management of histories including shipment, handover and delivery.
Sharing delivery information among shippers, carriers and warehouse operators is expected to improve and enhance delivery efficiency. Shippers can obtain the data needed to analyze logistics issues and optimize costs. Carriers are also expected to benefit through higher load factors and reduced driver workloads.
Bit Waybill records are managed on a blockchain and stored on a shared platform in a tamper-resistant format. Logistics data connects to each company's systems and applications through API integration, enabling users to obtain and use the information they need.
Logizard plans to encourage participation by more companies and develop the foundation for resolving issues across the logistics industry and realizing the physical internet.
