Marubun to fully roll out security services using Aeolus robots. Without requiring elevator integration work, Aeolus provides autonomous movement and surveillance.
Marubun has formally introduced the humanoid AI robot “Aeolus,” made by Aeolus Robotics Corporation, for security services and has stepped up efforts to support digital transformation at customer sites. A key feature is that it promotes the automation of security operations using existing facilities, without the elevator integration work that was previously required.
Aeolus uses 2 arms and advanced AI to achieve autonomous movement without relying on elevator integration. Its robotic arms physically operate elevator buttons, allowing it to get on and off elevators and move between floors.
The initiative is driven by a shrinking workforce and shortages of security personnel resulting from the declining birthrate and aging population. In addition to services for care facilities, Marubun aims to address labor shortages in building maintenance and facility management by promoting the adoption of Aeolus. Since elevator integration costs have often been high, reducing the financial burden is a major focus.
Going forward, Marubun is considering expanding the scope of Aeolus applications, including increasing the types of anomalies it can detect and improving guidance and consultation functions using an AI chatbot. Through wider adoption, it aims to promote digital transformation in the security industry.
