Apple has announced iPhone Duo, a new foldable iPhone. It features an integrated dual-display design, an A20 Pro chip and advanced cameras, and runs iOS 27 with the new Siri AI. It will be available in Starwhite and Nightsky, with pre-orders beginning on 16 October and sales starting on 23 October.
Apple today announced iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone. It features a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display that can be used depending on whether the device is open or closed, with both operating at the same aspect ratio. The device has a pleasant-to-the-touch Nano-texture finish and high durability. Grade 5 titanium and Ceramic Shield are used for the hinge and body materials, while the device remains compact enough to fit in a pocket.
iPhone Duo is equipped with an A20 Pro chip and a proprietary thermal-management system, designed to deliver sustained performance and stability. A new display engine allows both displays to operate simultaneously, while the device also supports Face ID signature functionality, integrated Touch ID authentication and unlocking with an Apple Watch.
The camera system is centered on a new 48MP Fusion camera. It offers 48MP high-resolution photos, 24MP photos by default, 2x optical zoom, 4K recording and Dolby Vision support, delivering new experiences made possible by the foldable display. A FaceTime camera under the inner display can also be used when the device is open.
The operating system and AI features integrate iOS 27 and Siri AI. The device offers an interaction experience optimized for foldable devices, including vertically scrolling widgets, an expanded vertical Dynamic Island, side-by-side apps through Split View and new StandBy mode features. Apple Intelligence expands the use of AI on iPhone Duo while prioritizing privacy.
