UGREEN announced two new models in its Nexode Wavy series of power banks, the 10,000mAh 45W and 20,000mAh 55W models, and will begin rolling them out through its official website and major retailers.
UGREEN announced 2 new Nexode Wavy series power banks on 17 August. The 10,000mAh model is priced at ¥7,980 and the 20,000mAh model at ¥9,980. Sales will begin through the official website, Amazon.co.jp, Bic Camera, Yodobashi Camera and other retailers.
The new models are designed with a focus on safety and use Dymondcell battery cells. The positive-electrode material combines highly heat-resistant LCO with stable ternary materials. The current collectors and separators feature safety-enhancing coatings, while the electrolyte contains flame retardants and overcharge inhibitors.
To improve heat resistance and impact resistance, the power banks are designed to limit the risk of ignition even under conditions including penetration by 4mm nails, pressure of 2.5 tonnes and heating to 135°C. They feature monitoring by an NTC temperature sensor 100 times per second and 14 protection functions, with the BMS automatically detecting conditions, making decisions and providing protection.
The units feature a display showing the battery status. Users can check the remaining charge, output voltage, cell temperature and number of charging cycles, among other information. Support for simultaneous charging of 3 devices and a built-in cable are also key features.
