Charle lowered its current-year consolidated net profit forecast from a profit to a loss after the close on 29 October. No first-half outlook for April–September was disclosed.
Charle (ticker 9885) substantially lowered its consolidated net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027, changing it from the previous forecast of a ¥110 million profit to a ¥750 million loss. No new earnings outlook was disclosed for the first half, April–September.
The main reason for the revision was continued weak sales of staple products in the women’s underwear business. As a result, revenue is expected to fall substantially short of plan, while an increase in inventory valuation losses is expected to reduce gross profit. Operating profit and ordinary profit are also expected to fall below the previous forecasts. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent was also lowered because costs associated with recruiting employees for voluntary retirement will be recorded as extraordinary losses.
The revision table shows the difference between the previous and new forecasts. The previous forecast called for revenue of ¥13,500 million and a net profit of ¥110 million, while the new forecast is revenue of ¥12,700 million and a net loss of ¥750 million.
