Cohere announced on Thursday that it had signed a letter of intent to acquire AISLE, a cybersecurity company that uses AI to identify software vulnerabilities. AISLE is based in San Francisco, and its vulnerability-detection technology will be integrated into Cohere’s business.
If the acquisition goes ahead, Cohere is expected to strengthen its ability to provide security and threat-detection capabilities to European customers as part of its efforts to expand its business base into Europe through its merger with Aleph Alpha. The report also said that the value of the merger had been reported at approximately $20 billion as an estimate of the assets and value of the group after the integration. AISLE’s Prague office could also contribute to strengthening Cohere’s network of European locations.
AISLE was co-founded by Ondrej Vlcek, a former CEO of Czech company Avast, and is said to have identified more than 500 vulnerabilities in widely used software during its first year. These included 12 vulnerabilities in OpenSSL, which is used to encrypt communications for banks, governments and communications apps.
The transaction terms have not been disclosed.
