As part of an overseas youth training program run by the Taiwanese government, the “Youth Overseas Dream Fulfillment Fund Program I-3-2 Japan Media AI Leadership” will be held in Japan from 19 August to 2 September 2026 for 20 young people from Taiwan. The program is intended to give participants an opportunity to understand the impact of the latest digital technologies, including AI, by experiencing the front lines of Japan’s media and content industries.
The program will include visits to 7 companies: SmartNews, note, TBS Television, TVer, Dentsu, Nippon Columbia and 日本朝日新聞社. Participants will study examples of each company’s work in areas including the use of AI, content production, journalism, platforms, advertising and creative services, and the music business. Learning will take place through lectures by industry professionals, discussions and office tours.
As the culmination of approximately 2 weeks of study, Demo Day will be held on 31 August, when participants will present the成果 of their work. They will develop ideas based on the knowledge and insights they gain and receive feedback from the judges. The program is designed as an integrated learning plan that extends through to practical output in the field.
The program is organised by the Youth Development Administration, Taiwan Ministry of Education, with メディアジーン participating as the overseas partner organisation. The participants are 20 young people from Taiwan, and the program will run from 19 August to 2 September. The program as a whole is positioned as an opportunity to explore the current state and future direction of Japan’s media industry.
