With more than 70 years of history, Porada has announced its latest collection centered on Ikigai ahead of its launch in Japan. Presented at Milan Design Week, the collection proposes new ways of living with wood.
Founded in 1948 in Brianza, northern Italy, Porada has drawn on its long-standing woodworking expertise while maintaining a commitment to environmental responsibility rather than simply using wood as a material. The brand has announced a new collection built around the concept of Japanese Ikigai, with its launch in Japan scheduled for January 2027.
At the heart of the collection is an interpretation of Ikigai, with designs intended to harmonize joy, meaning and contribution to the world from the perspectives of culture and styling. The Rhode modular sofa is distinguished by its rounded form and solid-wood arm accents, and can also be configured with a solid-wood side table at the end of the sofa.
The Nissa dining chair features an elegant Canaletto walnut frame, an ergonomic design and a back-and-seat cushioning structure intended to provide comfort during extended periods of sitting. The Copine lounge chair combines a cocooning form with generous padding and straight legs, creating a natural fit for contemporary living spaces.
The brand continues to manage its timber supply chain in-house and has owned 280 ha of forest in France’s Burgundy region since 2011. In 2024, it also planted 10,000 seedlings to enhance ecosystem diversity and stabilize its timber supply. Infinity is a long-lasting oak dining table featuring a distinctive structure in which 12 components are carved to form an Infinity loop.
